Continuing our series of articles on the integration of chat with popular CMS, today I want to introduce a simple way in which you can install Chatwee chat system on Weebly. Weebly provides an easy and convenient way, and above all, for free, create a website, blog or even online store. No wonder Weebly with its so popularity is reaching millions of users everyday.
In this tutorial, I invite you to read how to easily set up chat system on a website or a blog created by Weebly.
Step 1 – Get free chat room for Weebly
The first thing you need to do is copy the chat code, which is then put on the page. To get the code, please register at Chatwee free, if you do not have an account Chatwee yet.
Once you have successfully created your account Chatwee, you find yourself in your control panel, which you will use each time you want to change the settings. At the beginning, copy the script from the Code section and go to the second step.
Step 2 – Add chat code to Weebly dashboard
We have the script copied to the clipboard already, now we have to put it in the appropriate place on your site in Weebly Editor. Log on to Weebly Editor and if you are running more than one sites, select the proper Site where you want to have Chatwee working. Just make sure that the URL you typed in the Chatwee registration process, is the same to the choosen one in Weebly. If you change ever the URL of your Site in Weebly, please make sure to perform the same change in Chatwee Account otherwise your chat widget will not be displayed.
Now select the section EMBED CODE More object to implement his side. Drag and drop it anywhere on the page. Click on the newly created object, press the ‘Click to set custom HTML’ button and paste copied code to the text box before the script. Finally, save your changes by clicking as usual the ‘PUBLISH’.
When you simply refresh your page in browser, chat widget will now appear ready to engage and make some buzz. Now you can go back to Chatwee dashboard to make some adjustments and settings. More on chat advanced set up options and other customizations you can read in this article.
