How to embed chat module for Drupal

Here is the tutorial which will guide you through the integration of Chatwee chat system with Drupal platform.

 

Step 1 – Get your free Chatwee code

This installation guide is dedicated for Drupal 7.x.

First, you need to get your individual Chatwee code. To get access to your Chatwee code log in to the Control Panel. If you don’t have an account yet, sign up for Chatwee here. Make sure that you entered the correct URL of your site during the registration to get your chat widget working properly. Go to Chatwee Code site by clicking “Code” in the main menu and copy the script provided in the box at the top of the page.

 

Step 2 – Install the chat module

Download Chatwee live chat module from our integration site.

Log in to your Drupal dashboard and navigate to Modules. Click “Install new module” and upload a downloaded zip file. Alternatively you can enter a valid URL to “Install from a URL”. After all, press Install.

Finally, let’s do a few settings inside the Drupal dashboard to make it work. Navigate to the Modules. You will notice “Chatwee” somewhere at the end of the list in the “Other” modules section, after scroling down the page. Go to “Configure” and paste your Chatwee code snippet into the Chatwee Script box. Click “Save configuration”. Find Chatwee module once again on modules list and make it active by checking “Enabled” button. Click “Save configuration” once again.

Now you can go to your home page and start having a chat with other users on your site. Enjoy!

 

Post-install configuration

To perform some adjustments for the chat window, you can always log in to Chatwee dashboard. Navigate to Customize and get familiar with dozens of features to implement.
